Sutliff

In 1849 H.W. Sutliff founded the Sutliff Tobacco Company in San Francisco, California. Primarily retailers until 1933 when the company began manufacturing its flagship brand “Mixture 79”.

In 1969 Consolidated Cigar Corporation purchased the company and further acquisitions which included Milt Sherman Pipe Tobacco allowed them to expand into the highly profitable Bulk Tobacco business, selling into retail tobacconists.

Today they are still the largest company in this segment of the industry.
