Created as a brand in 1977 and honouring Alejandro Robaina and his farm at Cuchillas de Barbacoa situated in the San Luis district of the Vuelta Abajo tobacco zone. He consistently grew some of the finestwrapper leaf tobacco in the region that was highly prized. The naming of a brand after him was the ultimate accolade.
