A series of pipes from Peterson of Dublin, created to reflect on the long clay pipes of previous years often found in ale houses.
In those days you'd get your ale, find a table and sit down. On the table would be some clay pipes of varying lengths, you would choose a pipe with a decent length and snap about an inch off the stem to create a clean mouthpiece, pack your pipe and enjoy your ale.
This is how clay pipes went from being Churchwardens at the start and ended up as a cutty several days later.
Today's pipe is perfect for reading as the smoke is kept well away via a longish black acrylic stem with a fishtail mouthpie, it has a plain polished nickel ring where it meets the woodwork, simple but good looking.
The finish is a nice rustication that has been given a dark stain to produce a good no nonsense look.
