Peterson of Dublin System Standard Sandblasted Briar Pipe - Shape XL315

The System series has been a staple line of the Peterson range since the start of the 1900's. Designed to smoke cooler and drier, with a means to collect excess moisture and a mouthpiece that funnels the smoke, Charles Peterson had these ideas patented and forever after a tradition of continual improvement has been the company watchword. Little has changed in over a century when it comes to shapes, and the XL315 Calabash has been popular with pipe smokers from the beginning. A solid and comforting shape that guarantees an enjoyable smoke.

This particular version, in a sandblast finish is eye candy indeed. The pipe sits easily in the hand, large, tactile and non slip, the legendary sandblasting process, perfected over the years, has removed the softer grain and the hard wood left stands out beautifully. A reddish brown stain, applied after sandblasting, just adds to the theatre. 

Fitted with the legendary "P" lip, the highly polished nickel mount finishes the pipe perfectly. There's no need to let the pipe cool down with this kind of fitting.
