Product Description
In the First World War, a soldier couldn't get his favourite pipe repaired easily, so if he broke his peg, he took an old bullet casing and hammered it onto the shank. The stem with the broken peg could then be shoved into the other end, not pretty but he got his smoke.
And so the Army mount was born, quick and easy to maintain it's practical, and nowadays, Peterson have refined it with the use of sterling silver for their higher grade pipes.
This 85 is a straight Apple with a sandblast bowl. The sandblasting exposes the harder grain, this relief, when stained can produce a very nice pattern where the stain goes deeper into the crevices.
It's comfortable, tactile to hold and offers a decent smoking period of around 30 minutes. The nickel army mount makes for easy cleaning, even when warm. A vulcanite stem with a fishtail lip completes the picture.
