Golden Blend's Vanilla pipe tobacco, renamed simply to Golden Blend's "No. 1" is an American style Vanilla aromatic which is based on the usual Virginia, Burley, Cavendish mix. Unusually, the tobaccos are presented as coarse cut ribbons which give the eyes something interesting to look at. By now of course, your nose has been greeted with the familiar smell of Vanilla and the fruity elements of the pipe tobaccos. It packs into the bowl well, and is of perfect moisture content so the leaves are easily lit.
Puffing slowly, there is no need to coax the bold and confident flavours as they present themselves forthrightly. Creamy Vanilla takes centre stage and later on subsides enough to give access to the citrus, fruity Virginia, the berry and raisin Cavendish and the earthy burley. Altogether the flavours are easily appreciated, giving Golden Blend's No. 1 a top spot in many people's smoking rotation. Indeed, this tobacco can be smoked effortlessly all day, every day.
