Based in the mountains around San José, Costa Rica the company prides itself on cultivating quality tobacco leaf without the use of pesticides. Fermented for up to two years, they then age it anywhere from 7-10 years to produce a smoother smoking experience. Today the company boasts a myriad of blends in several different collections, each with different characteristics.
The Sacred Arts Collection pays homage to the biblical interpretation of the seven days of creation. The 7 seven cigars represent a specific day, each with its own unique blend and size. The Raphael is a nod to the 15th century master painter and his masterpiece the Sistine Madonna. It represents the fourth day and the creation of the sun, moon and stars.
The Raphael Robusto Extra is a premium full bodied cigar that delivers a rich, complex smoke. Measuring 6 inches with a 50-ring gauge, you should get over an hour of pleasure. Expertly hand rolled using a blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican and Honduran tobaccos.
From the first draw, you'll enjoy bold notes of coffee, dark chocolate and wood, followed by layers of cedar, earth, spice and a touch of sweetness. Subtle hints of leather and pepper add depth, while the oily wrapper provides an even burn, excellent construction and a smooth draw throughout.
