A boutique brand founded by Jon Huber and Mike Condor, two former CAO executives who left when the company was eventually bought by STG.
Rolled at the TacaNicsa factory, in Esteli, Nicaragua under the supervision of Eradio Pichardo, this medum to full bodied Robusto style size cigar measures 4 7/8" x 56 ring gauge and can be enjoyed for a period of 45-65 minutes. The company wanted a new size that allowed the blend to open up and express its characteristics, so the Topes was created.
It's a collaboration between Huber and Eradio Pichardo, the master blender, and the name Mil Dias translates roughly to 1000 days. They chose an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, then combined it with a Nicaraguan binder and finally added filler from Costa Rica, Nicaragu and Peru. A truly multi-national affair.
Light-up and enjoy the blending skill that's gone into this cigar. There's dark chocolate, some spice and coffee along with cedar and nuttiness appearing. There's loads of creamy smoke and the cigar slowly transitions as you smoke down. The burn is even and the draw superb, an excellent choice for a wide range of palates.
A 1000 days in creation and sadly only 45-65 minutes in enjoyment.
