Created by Rick Rodriguez, master blender and co-owner of West Tampa Cigars, a company he started in 2022 with Gus Martinez, formerly of General Cigar Co.
This regular production line of cigars came about from his nostalgic view of life in and around his neighbourhood's barber shops, the cornerstones of the local community. It's about the buzz, the conversation, the stories and debates and most importantly, the people in these places.
The cigar names are inspired by some of the equipment needed to run a barbershop, a bit tongue-in-cheek, but that's Rick's view on life.
The Clippers measure 6" x 54 and is a box pressed Toro, they're rolled at Garmendia Cigars in Esteli, Nicaragua.
The wrapper is a U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf shade leaf, with a Nicaraguan (Jalapa) binder and Nicaraguan filler leaf.
A medium to full-bodied cigar that will last around 90 minutes, depending on your technique.
Light up and there's earthiness along with some pepper and cocoa, which mellows down and allows coffee and cedar notes to come through.
This is a cigar that's rolled to be smoked, talked about and enjoyed.
