Following a recent relaunch, Aganorsa cigars have transitioned away from AJ Fernandez and are now a stand alone brand. The company originally began by selling top quality leaf to boutique manufacturers, which was grown on farms owned by Aganorsa in Nicaragua. Aganorsa has now become a brand everyone wants to try.
Now a regular production line, the box pressed Aganorsa Leaf Corojo Gran Robusto measures 5" with a 54 ring gauge, and should last for around an hour. It features a Nicaraguan Corojo '99 wrapper with binder and filler, also from Nicaragua. This all-Nicarguan puro is blended for those cigar smokers who prefer a medium strength and medium-bodied cigar, and it is right on the mark.
There's plenty of flavour and you can detect notes of cedar, roasted coffee and some earthiness. Smoke down a little and the spice notes appear along with some white pepper.
Altogether it's smooth, with the expected characteristics an all Nicaraguan puro would offer, there's plenty here for a beginner and veteran to both enjoy.
