Clan is a complex pipe tobacco that goes way back and today is produced by Scandinavian Tobacco Group. Your father, or uncle (if they smoked a pipe) probably smoked this on more than one occasion. It brings the nostalgic and generic room note of what a real pipe smells like. It�s slightly sweet, but has a flavour that�s difficult to pin down. There are no less than 14 different tobaccos in it, which provide entertainment as you almost identify a flavour which then fades and is replaced by another. If you manage to decipher a flavour or two it�s probably Virginia, which seems to make up a high proportion, or maybe it�s Kentucky�s smoky spice, though be aware there�s Latakia here too. There�s Oriental�s buttery, floral and earthy flavour to be found too and the list goes on. It�s enjoyable; it�s one of the most popular pipe tobaccos around!
