Charatan Black Flake has a bold character built upon darker Virginia leaf types, with a little Perique that amalgamates to a dense, almost overripe plummy, fermented, raisin bread like sour doughy saliency. Malt loaf? The flakes are a little sticky but that�s not a bad thing, they rub out wonderfully and light with relative ease. Cool smoke, especially for a Virginia, you might think you are smoking a Cavendish, save for the natural complexity of this blend. It has a spicy effervescence coming, in part, from the Perique and also the aforementioned malt loaf dough. You may taste some coffee or dark chocolate bitterness, slight but gratifying. It�s warming and satisfying, leaving a pleasant mouthfeel.
