Peterson's Balkan Mixture is a smooth and gentle Latakia blend. Although it's called Balkan Mixture, there are no Oriental tobaccos present, at least they are not mentioned. This does not mean there's no spice to this blend as the Perique gives a mild peppery quality to the flavour. The Latakia's smoky woody taste is immediately present but is not overpowering and allows the sweetness of the Virginia through. The Perique takes the stage with the Latakia and combine to give a tranquil peppery bitterness and smoky flair that is wonderful to the palate.
