Samuel Gawith Black Forest is a light mixture of bright Virginias and Black Cavendish with added honey. The mixture is airy but can be packed easily and burns surprisingly slowly. The tin note of sweet, floral, rich honey is promising and smoking the blend lives up to that promise. Virginias have citrus, grass and wood which serves as a backdrop for the sweetness of the honey and Black Cavendish. These flavours fade in strength by the time your bowl is half smoked but they remain present throughout the rest of the pipe, as a mellower, deeper flavour.
