This Wise Man maduro robusto is the follow-up to the El Guenguense corojo, and it was awarded the #3 spot and a 95 rating by Cigar Aficionado in 20018.
Another beautiful cigar rolled at the A.J. Fernandez factory (TABSA) in Esteli.
El Güegüense is also the name of a drama considered to be one of Nicaragua's oldest literary works. It is a play against colonial rule by the Spanish Conquistadors and often performed in elaborate costumes.
The cigar can be described as an elaborate play as well, with carefully thought-out parts. The wrapper is a dark chocolate brown Mexican San Andres leaf, chosen for sweetness and some spice, the binder is from Nicaragua, and so is the filler.
This maduro robusto is full-bodied and flavourful. It has coffee, pepper, some earthiness, and a touch of vanilla.
A great cigar from a Maestro and Master Blender.
