An iconic brand first launched in 1964 by Gallaher in a slide pack as opposed to a tin, Hamlet Cigars, with thanks due to several excellent advertising campaigns, became the U.K.'s most popular cigar. Sadly in 2009 the J.R. Freeman factory in Cardiff closed as sales declined following the smoking in public ban of 2007.
